What is mental fitness?

Mental fitness is having the psychological strength, ability and freedom to efficiently and successfully mange stresses, problems, adversities, painful emotions, and frustrations in daily living. Mental fitness is having the strength and freedom to overcome the problems in daily living. Mental fitness results in finalizing your goals and achieving your dreams. Mental fitness means that people are psychologically actualizing their potential and elevating their functioning and achievement to higher levels. Mental fitness means that people are living their values, regulating their emotions and assessing consequences to their behavior. Mental fitness means people are living a balanced, healthy life style. Mental fitness means people are living in the present. Mental fitness is based on acceptance of weakness and humanness. Mental fitness is the ability to keep focused and momentum, even in challenging circumstances. Mental fitness is caring for oneself and living each day with happiness, peace of mind, freedom and control over one’s life.

Mental fitness also means having the freedom, power and confidence to make new choices. People can be easily overpowered and frazzled by the vast number of stresses and problems in life. People who are not mentally fit continue to make the same, worn out choices. They do not have the power, freedom or skills to try something new. No matter how successful a person’s past education and experiences have been, new choices must be made to continue to be successful. To make new choices a person has to be free to go beyond past experiences and the captivity of what feels right, natural, and familiar.



What is mental fitness training?

Mental fitness training is the repetition of mental exercises with the sole purpose of creating and maintaining mental fitness. By repeating the mental exercises on a regular basis you can have the clarity of purpose and the psychological strength to cope quickly and efficiently with the stresses in everyday living in a psychological satisfying manner. When a person is mentally fit, they are able to overcome the external obstacles and inner self-doubts that prevent goal attainment or the actualization of your dreams.


Why is mental fitness training important?

Mental fitness training is important, because people have so many problems and frustrations in everyday living. In order to cope with all of these frustrations and turn all these problems into successes, people need to be very focused, persistent, confident and determined. Mental fitness is not taught in schools. Most people do not recognize the need for mental fitness. With mental fitness training, life becomes more simple, satisfying and productive.


Who needs mental fitness training?

Everybody needs and can benefit from mental fitness training. If you want more success, wealth, satisfying relationships, and a sense of psychological well-being, then mental fitness training is for you. What is the difference between counseling and mental fitness training?

In general, counseling provides the opportunity for emotional venting, analysis of the roots of a person's problems, and the development of insights to improve the quality of living. With counseling there is a diagnosis for each patient. There is never a diagnosis for people who are receiving mental fitness training. Mental fitness training is not based on the analysis of a person's past or the causes for people's problems.

What are the benefits of mental fitness classes?

Mental fitness classes provide the opportunity to learn the program, and also provide the opportunity for the instructor to help you apply the mental fitness program in your life. The instructor can help you overcome your insecurities, uncertainties and the difficulties in applying the exercises in your life. The group process also will provide support for you in learning the program. You also will be able to benefit from other peoples experience and insights in regard to applying the mental fitness program in their lives. The instructor will focus on helping you apply the exercises in your life for any or all problems or goals. The instructor will not to analyze your history or provide counseling for you.


What are the benefits of coaching?

The purpose of life and mental fitness coaching is for you to become free to design your life as you will like it to be. The focus of coaching is always in the present. With your coach, you will remove the clutter in your life and overcome the obstacles that prevent you from having the quality of life you wish. With the assistance of your coach, you will find the solution to your problems inside of yourself. The goal of coaching is for you to formulate your goals and make decisions that are in your best self-interest. The coach will help you have a well-balanced life. Your coach can help you find success in any part of your life. The North Star Mental Fitness Program and training are tools for you to use in the pursuit of your life goals and in your commitment to yourself. The North Star Mental Fitness Program will provide you with choices to remove obstacles in your life, cope with frustrations, strengthen your commitment and will give you the power to actualize yourself and your life plan. The coach will facilitate your self discovery and actualization of your life plan. The coach also will hold you accountable for applying the programs in remaining focused in reaching your goals.


What do I need to begin?

You do not need motivation and hope to begin the program. Motivation and hope are not the prerequisites for success, but the results of success. All you need to begin the program is disappointment in some part of your life and a commitment from you to improve the quality of your life.


Why haven't I heard of the North Star Mental Fitness Program?

For the last 20 years, Dr. Sommerschield has only applied the program with his clients. Now, the program that has been refined in his clinical practice, is being offered in seminars and on the Internet.


How soon will I see results?

There are two stages in applying this program in regard to receiving results. You can expect immediate success by applying the choices in any aspect of your life. You'll be able to find solutions for your problems quickly and efficiently by applying the different exercises

In order for you to develop mental fitness and strengthen your identity is it is necessary for you to regularly complete the exercises. By continuing to practice the exercises, you will you will change yourself so you can automatically make focused, confident and powerful decisions in all aspects of your life.




We must accept life for what it actually is - a challenge to our quality without which we should never know of what stuff we are made, or grow to our full stature.
